Music
I made it through the practice in one piece. I played bass on one of songs and sang vocals on the second song for the drummer and guitar player. Apparently they liked my bass playing more than my singing. The main guy told me that he wanted me to focus on the bass playing since they had a bigger need for the bass. Afterwards, they played a few more of their songs for me to hear. Codrington seemed pretty excited about it. During the drive home I told Coddy that I wasn't sure if I wanted to play bass for them because the band practices would be a pretty big commute. Pasadena to Santa Monica takes around 30-40 minutes as long as you do not get stuck in traffic. Anyone who is familiar with the 405, 10, 134 or Pasadena freeway know that it is rare not to hit traffic. Coddy said that the drive to Simi Valley to see Lynyrd is worse but the difference is that Lynyrd plays guitar so he is able to come out to see me. This guy is not going to pack up his drum kit and drive all the way out to Pasadena every week. I thought it about it for a few days and then told Coddy that I decided against it. The main reason is the commute but also I have so many other things going on...like an upcoming wedding, vocal class, piano class, Lynyrd's band, and practicing bass.
Wedding
This week one of my friends, Lynn, asked me to be her maid of honor for her wedding coming up in April. I accepted but there are so many things that I need to plan in a short span of time. ..like two bridal showers and a bachelorette party (all planned in March). I have no experience in doing this so Soy Girl and Nikki are both giving me tips. After work today, I drove to the bridal shop, tried on the dress and shoes, and ordered both. The dress is an indigo blue and is the type of dress that you could wear again. I am so excited for Lynn!!!!
